Our mission is to recognize other students for their academic and extracurricular accomplishments, and to feature local style, entertainment and lifestyle trends. We publish one print issue a semester and also post daily online content throughout the academic year.”

46 LIVE was established in 2014 as the re-branded College of Communications Telecommunication’s Club THON Webcast. 46 LIVE is an industry-standard live production that ran online for 46 hours straight. 46 LIVE captured the essence of the Penn State IFC/ Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately known as THON, during the THON 2015 weekend (February 20th-22nd, 2015 at the Bryce Jordan Center).46 LIVE began at 5:30 p.m. on February 20th and concluded on 4:30 p.m. on February 22nd. 46 LIVE consisted of three cameras angles, pre-produced content with interviews with THON directors, 2015 THON dancers and past THON dancers, new segments within the webcast. The new segments were THON POV and THON DVM. THON POV was segments comprised of GoPro content from different perspectives of the event. THON DVM, Dancer Video Messages, was a segment that was set up prior to THON in which loved ones of THON 2015 dancers could send video messages to dancers then THON weekend the DVM producer found the perspective dancers on the floor and showed them the video while filming their reaction. The producer then would edit the footage into a segment for the webcast.

46 LIVE’s three objectives were to include and increase Intimacy, Innovation and Interaction. We increased Interaction through our Facebook and Twitter along with our weekend hashtags. We also increased Interaction through branding efforts as we were acknowledged in Penn State’s Daily Collegian, Valley Magazine and Penn State Newstwice. Additionally, We proved Intimacy and Innovation through the addition of all of the new segments not present in previous webcast years.
